Malaysia is home to many unique natural wonders including caves. To many, caves are often associated with common pre-historic man’s place of shelter. Interestingly, caves are important in housing minerals, rare organisms and even ancient fossils or paintings. Hence, it is appropriate for us to finally issue a stamp on caves and it is our hope that this effort will be able to highlight the significance of caves to the public’s eyes and along the way promote the nation’s eco-tourism industry.

During the 1969 Universal Postal Congress in Tokyo, October 9 was declared World Post Day to commemorate the formaton of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) which took place in 1874.
The second edition of Pos Silang which coincides with World Post Day 2019, Pos Malaysia features the two boxes that are placed in unique locations in Malaysia. The post boxes highlighted in this series are located at Gunung Kinabalu (Sabah) and Tanjung Piai (Johor).

Our marine life is crucial in preserving an ever-growing ecosystem. The reefs and seagrass act as a habitat and shelter to the nearby wildlife, which feed on the wide range of natural food sources. We must ensure that Malaysia continues to maintain its rich and diverse wildlife in the face of uncontrolled human activities and global warming which continues to be a daily risk to our environment.
