Malaysia is home to many unique natural wonders including caves. To many, caves are often associated with common pre-historic man’s place of shelter. Interestingly, caves are important in housing minerals, rare organisms and even ancient fossils or paintings. Hence, it is appropriate for us to finally issue a stamp on caves and it is our hope that this effort will be able to highlight the significance of caves to the public’s eyes and along the way promote the nation’s eco-tourism industry.

The Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN) Peninsular Malaysia is a department under the Ministry of Water, Land and Natural Resources (KATS) responsible for wildlife conservation activities in Peninsular Malaysia and Federal Territory.
Wildlife conservation efforts include ex-situ and in-situ wildlife conservation, enforcement of wildlife-related legislation in combating wildlife crimes, wildlife research and protection of wildlife habitat as well as enhancing knowledge, awareness and community involvement in conservation of wildlife.

During the 1969 Universal Postal Congress in Tokyo, October 9 was declared World Post Day to commemorate the formaton of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) which took place in 1874.
The second edition of Pos Silang which coincides with World Post Day 2019, Pos Malaysia features the two boxes that are placed in unique locations in Malaysia. The post boxes highlighted in this series are located at Gunung Kinabalu (Sabah) and Tanjung Piai (Johor).
